Movie News: Robert Pattinson to play Gotham’s next caped crusader.

Almost a week ago, it was announced that Twilight and Water for Elephants star Robert Pattinson was in talks to play Batman in the next film scheduled for release in 2021. Although not yet confirmed, Pattinson is the current front runner for the role after Ben Affleck decided to move on from it after Batman VS Superman and Justice League was not received well by a large number of fans.

I can’t imagine too many loyal Batman fans would be very excited about a former teen vampire being cast as the next caped crusader, but I do think it’s only fair he get the benefit of the doubt until more comes to light that he can be judged on. Being a rather popular franchise with millions of fans across the world, it’s reasonable to believe Pattinson will want to give his all to the role and not risk alienating the fans.

Do I think he’ll suit the role? Yes, I do. I don’t think the Twilight films are the greatest films to have ever existed, but I do think he played his rather mysterious role well. Although not a mythical creature, Bruce Wayne is also a character who places a great importance on keeping the ones he loves in the dark about who he really is, and it is my opinion that being familiar with playing this kind of character will benefit Pattinson.

But those are just my thoughts, I’d like to hear what you have to say.
